Brewer to play in NBA Summer League PDF Print E-mail

Minnesota Timberwolves second year player Corey Brewer and nine other players will take part in the National Basketball Association Summer League in Las Vegas, Nevada that runs July11-20.

The Timberwolves and 20 other NBA teams will participate in the league that plays 53 games in 10 days at the COX Pavilion and the Thomas & Mack Center on the campus of the University of Nevada-Las Vegas.

Brewer will be joined on the Timberwolves squad by 2007 second year selection Chris Richard,  Kevin Love, the fifth overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft, Blake Ahearn, Dan Coleman, Vincent Grier, Pooh Jeter, Longar Longar, Drew Neitzel, and Bryce Taylor.

Corey struggled in the 2007 NBA Summer League and hopes to improve his play this year in the five game league.

He averaged 11.0 points per game with 9.6 rebounds per game in 30.8 minuters of action with a shooting percentage of 28.1 percent.

"I struggled quite a bit last summer with my shooting," Brewer said. "I have worked really hard this off-season with my shooting and in the weight room."

"I hope it shows out in Vegas."

Minnesota's summer league team will be coached by Jerry Sichting along with assistants J.B. Bickerstaff, Ed Pinckney and Nate Tibbetts (Sioux Falls Skyforce).
