The Dallas Mavericks rallied from an early deficit to knock off the Minnesota Timberwolves 88-74 Monday night at Cox Pavillion.

Minnesota jumped out to an early 8-2 lead in the First quarter as Bryce Taylor, Corey Brewer, and Kevin Love all connected on shots early in the game.

Brewer conected on his first two shots to give him four early points.

The shooting would go south from that point as the Mavericks went on a 17-2 run midway through the first quarter. Minnesota scored only four points in the last six minutes of the period.

Things didn't get much for the Timberwolves in the second period. The strong defensive play of the Mavericks held the the Timberwolves to 30 points total in the first half. 

Love showed some inside presence in the third quarter as he accounted for eight of the teams 19 points.

Minnesota was ablet to outscore the Mavericks in the fourth quarter, but the damage was already done.

 Dallas was led in scoring by  two former Southeastern conference players Jajuan Smith (Tennessee) 19 points and Shan Foster (Vanderbilt)17 points.

The Timberwolves had four players to reach double figures in the loss. Love finished his first Summer League game with a double-double 18 points and 13 boards. Blake Ahearn contributed 17 points off the bench, Brewer added 11 points, and Drew Neitzel had 10 points.

Brewer also collected seven rebounds and had three assist in the gameas he played 26 minutes.

Minnesota drops to (0-1) in Summer League and will be in action Wednesday night against the Los Angeles Lakers.
