This summer Corey Brewer spent hours each day working on his jump shot. The hardwork has paid off in a boost of confidence this preseason.
With the moves the Timberwolves made this offseason, Brewer will be counted on to make the open jumper. In preseason action Brewer did just that making eight of 12 from behind the arc shooting 40.3% from the field. That mark is up from the 37 percent that Corey shot last season from the field. "Corey's confidence is so much different than it was a year ago," Randy Wittman said. Brewer like most rookies struggle in their first year in the league and sometimes a year under a players belt makes the second season easier. "I really like my shot right now," Brewer said. "The hard work this summer has paid off and I have a more consistant shot." In preseason action Corey brought his scoring average up four ponts from last season. He averaged 5.7 points per game and in the preseason averaged 9.8 points per game. After a solid rookie season on defense, Brewer has already gotten a strong reputation for being one of the best defenders in the league. The real story will be told beginning tonight at home against the Sacremento Kings. |
