Mike Miller knocked down an open shot at the buzzer to give the Minnesota Timberwolves a 105-103 win over Oklahoma City.
SebastianTelfair and Corey Brewer nailed 3-pointers on
consecutive possessions to push their edge to 79-70 at the end of the
third quarter.
But the Thunder rallied from a nine-point deficit in the fourth quarter and led for a short time as Kevin Durant hit a go-ahead 3-pointer with 1:05. Miller connected on a 19 foot jumper as time as expired to give the Timberwolves their fourth win of the season. Minnesota had five players to reach double figures in scoring and two players recorded nine points. Craig Smith a game high 23 points and grabbed 8 boards. Al Jefferson was his stellar self scoring 19 points and nine rebounds. Miller finished with 18 points and Ryan Gomes added 11 points. Second year player Corey Brewer connected on two three point shots and finished the game shooting four of seven from the field for 12 points. Durant and Jeff Green led Oklahoma City with 22 points apiece. Chris Wilcox scored 15 of his season-high 21 points in the fourth period to spark the Thunder's comeback, and Russell Westbrook finished with 15 points and dished eight assists. The Minnesota Timberwolves will go for a two game winning streak against the Denver Nuggets at the Target Center Saturday night. |
